A Vision For The Journey

Life is a journey. I have found over the years that it should and can be an exciting journey, if we employ the tools given to us in Christ.

In John 4:35, the Master speaks to His disciples concerning the importance of vision in the lifestyle of a soul winner. He says "Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest." He teaches that when it comes to winning souls, NOW is the acceptable time, because, the seed of the Word has been sown into every heart. Yes, every heart does have a knowledge of God. Enshrined within the instruction of Jesus is a key that I would like to share with us today; that key is the power of your vision.


Jesus instructs that we are to 'lift up our eyes, and look on the fields'. I am learning daily from the Word that the personality of the Christian should go from glory to glory, meaning that with each passing day, we should grow unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. However, some Christians do not grow because they are held bound by the failure of yesterday, bound by the disappointment of the past, they are bitter, unhappy and weighed down by challenges. But Jesus says 'lift up your vision and see', instead of looking at past failure(s), look at the grace of God. Instead of gazing at yesterday's defeat, focus on the workings of and the power of the Spirit offered to us in Christ. There is no drive, no desire to propel us towards the glorious destiny in Christ, when we are fixed on our limitations, on the failure(s) of the past, on bitterness, etc.

Now is the time to learn and perfect the attitude that 'sees above the present circumstance'. 2017 could be another victorious year for us when we take advantage of the power of vision.
