Two Nigerians, Victor Moses and Sammy Ameobi, were in action for
their respective teams, Stoke City and Newcastle United, on Sunday.
They were each instrumental in the away victories secured by their teams.
While Stoke City thumped Tottenham Hotspurs 1-2, Newcastle United piped West Brom 0-2.
Ameobi was in the starting line-up for Newcastle United yet again as
they secured their fifth successive victory by beating the Baggies at
the Hawthorns, Sunday afternoon.
Goals in both halves from Ayoze Perez and Fabricio Coloccini helped
the resurgent Magpies continue their fine form and move seventh in the
Premier League table.
Ameobi, younger brother of Super Eagles forward, Shola Ameobi, played for 78 minutes before he was subsisted.

Bojan Krkic scored his first Premier League goal as Stoke City beat
the 10-man Tottenham Hotspur team with Jon Walters adding to Bojan’s
opener.
While Spurs did pull a goal back, their quest for an equaliser
suffered a blow late on when Naughton was red carded for hauling down
Victor Moses in front of goal to kill off Spurs’s comeback bid.
In the other game also decided on Sunday, Sunderland and Everton
shared the spoils at the Stadium of Light as their tie ended 1-1.
