The election will take place in Warri, Delata State, on Tuesday
Thirty-six candidates will battle for the
eight elective positions at stake in the NFF election, with seven of
them seeking to succeed Aminu Maigari as the President of the national
football ruling body.
They are Taiwo Ogunjobi, Dominic Iorfa, Mike Umeh, Shehu Dikko, Amanze Uchegbulam, Abba Yola and Amaju Pinnick.
Siasia, who lamented the state of
Nigerian football, urged the winners of the elections to resolve the
contentious issues and challenges facing the sport in the country.
The former Super Eagles coach said, “If
the football house is not well-managed, it will affect every aspect of
the game; it will slow down the progress of the game which does not help
anybody.
“They need to get their act together as we cannot move forward with unresolved issues here and there.
“Football has given us pride in the world, we should not mess that up now. We need all stakeholders on board.
“Do the right thing and put the right people at the right positions so that the league can also progress.”
