Barcelona are being tipped to make a move for Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson in a shock deal, according to reports in Spain.
The 24-year-old has been in great form so far for Brendan Rodgers, whose side are slowly climbing up the Premier League table despite a nervy start to the campaign.
Henderson is now seen as the player who could eventually overtake club captain Steven Gerrard as the new skipper as well as the key midfielder in the squad following his impressive displays. His performances have not gone unnoticed as Spanish media are linking Barca to make a shock attempt to sign him next January.

The England international only has 18 months left on his current deal, but with the La Liga giants currently slapped with a transfer embargo, they will not be able to complete any deal until their ban is lifted in 2016.
However, the claim is being backed as Barca have already sent scouts to a watch a number of the Reds’ matches, but it is not known exactly who they are keeping an eye on.
