Barcelona captain Xavi About to be Link With NewYorkCity Football Club

As if the acquisitions of Frank Lampard and David Villa were not impressive enough, New York City FC are set to add another legend to their ranks, with the signing of Barcelona captain Xavi.
The former Spain international was heavily linked with a move away from Camp Nou last Summer, but instead opted to stay in Catalonia for another year. This time round, however, having only played a reduced role in this season's La Liga and Champions League campaigns, La Máquina will bid farewell to the club he has called home for the entirety of his trophy laden career.
Spanish radio station Cadena SER has today reported that the player, his father Joaquín and his agent Ivan Corretja met with a representative from the club at L'Arrosseria Xàtiva restaurant in Barcelona, not far from Camp Nou to negotiate the three time Champions League winner's move to the Big Apple.

Arguably the greatest midfielder of his generation (and of all time, for that matter), Xavi joined Blaugrana as an 11-year-old and has lifted seven La Liga titles and two Copa Del Reys, on top of the aforementioned Champions League titles.
