Report from CSAR says:
Manchester City will be looking to tie up a deal with teenage playmaker Kelechi Iheanacho in the coming weeks.
The 17-year old Nigerian has been on trial with the Premier League champions during their tour of the USA but requires a work permit in order to complete his move to England.
The paperwork has yet to be processed.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini is quoted by Sky Sports as saying he has high hopes for the future for the teenager:
“For the moment he will stay with us and we’ll see when we return to England what will happen with him. But he’s a very important player for the future for the club.
“He has demonstrated what he can do in the future. It depends on the way he takes this profession, but I think he’s a good talent.
“After the tour we will see what happens with him. There are a lot of things to arrange to play in England but he has an important future.”
Kelechi Iheanacho played the majority of Manchester City’s recent 4-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City to start their summer tour of the USA. The youngster scored a late goal with an fine finish and produced an eye-catching performance.

At the under-17s World Cup in the United Arab Emirates last year, Iheanacho scored six goals in seven matches for Nigeria, and was the tournament’s joint-second highest goalscorer with Brazil’s Boschilia, behind Sweden’s Valmir Berisha. He scored the second goal in the final in which Nigeria beat Mexico 3-0 and was awarded the Golden Ball for the best player in the tournament.
Manchester City have already signed Argentina youngster Bruno Zuculini from Racing Club de Avellaneda, and Dutch duo Javairo Dilrosun of Ajax and Rodney Kongolo of Feyenoord to their youth academy so far this summer.
The first team has seen goalkeeper Willy Caballero join from Málaga, right-back Bacary Sagna join from Arsenal and midfielder Fernando arrive from FC Porto so far this summer, with Porto teammate Eliaquim Mangala expected to be announced as their next signing anytime soon.
