Both disallowed Mexico goals came from Dos Santos, who must feel like the unluckiest person alive right now.
Cameroon also felt hard done by as the officials as no one in Group A seemed allowed to score a goal besides host nation Brazil. But Mexico again felt the harshest sting of frustration in the 30th minute when a goal they scored from a corner kick was disallowed for offside after the defender on the post charged forward and the ball deflected off the head of Cameroon player before Gio Dos Santos put it in the net.
Mexico finally had one of their goals count in the 61st minute though, when Oribe Peralta scored off the rebound and and the linesman kept his flag down for once. Mexico manager Miguel Herrera was excited.
Mexico held on and won 1-0, giving them three points to match their next Group A opponent: Brazil. Cameroon and Croatia, meanwhile, will both be looking for their first points in their match on June 18.
