Mourinho leads defensive rebirth with two buses

Three of the UCL Semi-finalists turned in defensive showings last week, while Chelsea repeated the trick in their win versus Liverpool. Does this signal a new dawn of pragmatism?

Comment on Jose lead defence:

Brede Maxwell:
lol some of the comments here were so ridiculous.
1. Possession football counts for nothing in the context of this match. It PURELY has got nothing to do with Barca, Bayern,Real Madrid or any other teams, or their pass successes using such tactics.

2. Even the average fan knew what Mourinho's tactics were going to be on Sunday. So was it the pool manager's job to device a tactic against Chelsea's defence? Mourinho clearly did his homework while pool showed they just merely turned up and expected Chelsea to gift them the time, space and goals.

3. If you're complaining about other team's defences, you should watch some other sport. The reasonable thing is to control your own fate, and with things in control, you give yourself every chance. Thus, one cannot expect teams to be exchanging attacking forays every few minutes, trying to out-score each other. 1 goal wins the game, 2 goals don't give you extra points, 3 goals don't mean you win the next mach.

4. If you complain against another's shield, it' best you develop better weapons. None such was the case on Sunday. Chelsea held shields with a dagger behind. LP held only spears and expected not to get hurt. Naive, over-confident, stubborn, whichever you name it.

Nana Kwame:
Well I understand how it hurts, but dont be naive in your analysis .
1. This is not Liverpool way of playing , this style is new to Pool and even the coach , you didnt even start the league with this style .
2. What hurts me is the naivity of Pool fans how can u b an attacking team , do you compare your team to Barce or Bayern 2 of the best attacking teams in this world who uses similar style , ?
3. Tell me would you put style over winning the league ; who would it hurt for years to come ?, its like Benitez time where Pool where in the running to and never won it , it hurts more than anything , in some few years what would you tell a young pool fan " we nearly won the league if not for Chelsea bark the bus tactics ". Wouldn't you have love saying we won a precious point of Chelsea at Anfield and went on to
